Local historian to give First World War lecture at Little Sutton Library

Local historian and teacher, Mike Royden, is coming to Ellesmere Port’s Little Sutton Library to give an evening lecture.


Entitled ‘Ellesmere Port during the First World War’, the lecture will take place at the library on Monday, July 7 at 7pm.


The interesting talk will include a study of how the local area was affected by the war, both on the Home Front and those who marched away to war.  There will also be time spent on how to research the war.


Mike Royden teaches Local History at the University of Liverpool Centre for Continuing Education and is also a teacher at The Whitby High School, Ellesmere Port.


He has featured in many BBC history productions, including ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ with Kim Cattrall, and has written numerous publications including Liverpool Then and Now, and Tracing Your Liverpool Ancestors.


Tickets are available from Little Sutton Library for £3.50. Refreshments will be provided.
