The Military Museum and Grosvenor Museum have teamed up with Steph Brocken from Minerva Arts Theatre to bring Mabel and her scrapbook to life.
This 10 week Saturday drama club has been set up to create a different type of creative response as part of the Mabel’s War Project. The drama group will be working together over the next two months to develop a performance based on what they find interesting about the scrapbook. This will be performed on Saturday 29th March 2014 at St Mary’s Centre in Chester and filmed for the commemorative event in November.
In the first session, the children learnt all about Mabel and her life through the evidence brought by the two Museums. They thought about what they found most interesting about Mabel. This was followed by the children looking at the paintings in Mabel’s scrapbook and creating mini performances from them.
