The First Community Collection Roadshow at Chester History and Heritage

On Saturday 19th October the first community collection roadshow was held at Chester History and Heritage when the public were invited to bring in their own Great War Collections so that they could be recorded. Lots of material came in including photographs, documents and objects. The team of volunteers and staff scanned and photographed the items and recorded both their history and the people connected with them. The information will be lodged with the venue where it was collected and some will go onto the touch screen kiosks in 2014 which will find permanent homes around Cheshire. Look out for further roadshows near you. Please be aware that, as information about each item has to be recorded and the item scanned or photographed, there may be a short wait, but we hope you think it is worth it to become part of history.
